Book List

Below is a list of the suggested literature for the school year. In kindergarten

we start homework bags that will include phonics readers  for students to take

home and read to their parents starting the second semester.  This homework will be listed in the weekly assignment section after New Years.  However, it is strongly encouraged that parents read with their child for 10 - 15 minutes each night.  Children mimic reading abilities and skills.  Our goal is to grow strong, fluent and beautiful readers.  This can only be done when the school and parents work together as a team to show porosity, inflection, fluency and intonation to make reading fun, interesting and exciting and most importantly enrich their lives through good literature.  You have a wonderful opportunity to model this for your student each night.  Below is a list of books we will be reading throughout the semester and urge you to go to the library to find these titles and read them together and discuss the virtue, the good, and the beautiful.
